1. WHAT

SeaGen International GmbH (“SeaGen”) will electronically process and store the following categories of personal data in its CRM (Customer Relations Management) system and other systems:

personal details (e.g. name, gender, professional registration number), contact details (e.g. email address, telephone number(s), country), professional qualifications, institute and other professional affiliations (e.g. department, function, specialty), publications and memberships (e.g. boards, committees).  

SeaGen may also want to process data such as your area(s) of expertise, professional credentials, activities, skills, preferences and interests.

2. WHY

A. We will process your data to share scientific information on therapeutic area(s) that may be of interest to you, to plan and invite you to scientific meetings and events based on the therapeutic area(s) of your interest, and to include them in our CRM systems according to our internal classifications (e.g. “Regional expert”). 

B. SeaGen may also chose to process your data to record our future mutual interactions, to create statistics and study trends and to provide you with relevant information on pharmaceutical products.
 

3. LEGAL BASIS

The processing of your personal data for the purposes under (A) above is based on your consent and Article 6.1(a) of the GDPR. 

You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by sending us an email at europedataprotection@seagen.com.

The processing of your personal data for the purposes under (B) above is based on Article 6.1(f) of the GDPR (legitimate interest).

4. WHO

The entity responsible to collect and process your data is SeaGen International GmbH, located in Dammstrasse 19, 6300 Zug (Switzerland).

You can use this address or the email address europedataprotection@seagen.com to contact us.

Depending on our future interactions, SeaGen may also want to share your data with companies of the Seattle Genetics group located in Europe and travel and communications agencies that may support us to manage your travels, e.g. to scientific events.
 
Given that our parent company is located in the US and they may perform some services for us, we may also have to transfer your data to the US. 

5. WHERE

Your data will be processed in Switzerland.

Travel and communications agencies may be located in Switzerland or in the European Economic Area.

Occasionally, we may have to transfer your data to our parent company in US. The US are among those countries that are not considered by the EU Commission as offering adequate protection to personal data, that is to say that, according to the Commission, the data processing measures adopted in the US are not as secure as the one adopted in Europe and Switzerland.

Nevertheless, SeaGen would like to reassure you that we have strict data protection policies in place and that your data will be securely used and stored in accordance with this notice.

Your data will be transferred to US only if you consented to that pursuant to art. 49.1(a) GDPR.

6. FOR HOW LONG?

SeaGen will review the content of its databases periodically to make sure that the data registered therein are up-to-date and still of interest. 

In any case, your data will not be kept for longer than 5 years if we don’t have any further interactions.

7. WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS?

Subject to limitations in the law, you have the right to access your data, and to ask us to update or rectify, restrict, port or erase your personal data.

You have the right to object to our use of your personal data for the legitimate interests described above.

8. SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY

We also wish to remind you that you can lodge a complaint with your country’s Data Protection Supervisory Authority, should you have legitimate reasons to complain about the processing of your data by SeaGen.
